We are proud to be among the three finalists for the Innovation in Space Award 2023! Every year the award celebrates European projects and organisations which have been implemented in the last two years and are at the forefront of innovation and creative thinking within the European space and space technology sectors. The winner of the award will be selected by a panel of expert judges consisting of representatives from the European Commission, ESA and leading space and satellite trade associations, with participants at the European Space Forum also getting a say through an audience vote. The winners will be announced on 6 July at the European Space Forum in Brussels.
We applied because we believe that with the RapidAI4EO corpus we have created an exceptional dataset which will drive the development of new AI architectures that can fully exploit the new data streams provided by multiple satellite constellations. With its multimodal and multi-resolution imagery, geographically diverse sampling, dense time series, and unprecedented volume, the RapidAI4EO corpus is the clear choice for developing foundation models for Earth observation tasks.
